In 2012, with the help of Christian churches and ministries in and around Rochester, NY, Samuel and Florence Mkisi began an orphanage in Mzuzu, Malawi to meet the needs of abandoned and endangered children in the area. Upendo Children’s Village is currently home to more than 60 children. They provide a safe home, medical attention, regular meals, proper clothing, a sound education, and most importantly, the love of God. Their mission is to raise children to become healthy, happy, responsible and independent adults following Jesus Christ and contributing to the betterment of Malawi, Africa. www.upendochildrensvillage.com
